    Upcoming Training in ME June 7-8, 2019

    We will have multi-discipline training on June 7-8, 2019 8a-4p at Western Mountain Baptist Church, 928 Carrabassett Rd., New Portland, Me. 04961. 

    Join Disaster Relief New England as they provide basic training for those who are interested in serving in this ministry. If you are interested in getting involved in serving or if you already serve and need a refresher, then please plan on attending this event!  This is a two day of training open to SBC and non-SBC members. The "Basic" and "Faith in Disaster Relief" entry level courses will be offered. (This is what allows for "Yellow Hat" badging- includes background checking). Specialty courses being taught: Chainsaw Recovery Modules 1 & 2, Flood Recovery 1 & 2. Further details and registration are done through our volunteer management site. IF YOU ARE NEW TO DISASTER RELIEF: To register, you will need to complete a new profile form at this site; apply and pay for a background check; and then register for the particular classes in this training event that you wish to attend. IF YOU ARE ALREADY A CERTIFIED DISASTER RELIEF VOLUNTEER: If your badge is up to date, to register, you will need to go to the training event page and register for the particular classes in this training event that you wish to attend.

    Western Mountain Training June 7-8, 2019
    This training is for ALL those interested in serving in Disaster Relief. Open to non-SBC members as well. Fri. Registration opens at 5p. Courses are 5:30-8:30p Sat. 8a Registration opens. Registration from 8a -10a; Courses are 9a - 4p. Lunch provided. FRIDAY: The "SB DR Basic" and "Faith in Disaster Relief" entry level courses will be offered ONLY on Friday evening from 5:30 - 8:30p. (This is what allows for "Yellow Hat" badging- includes background checking). These two courses will be taught only on Friday evening. Specialty courses being taught Saturday are Chainsaw Recovery Modules 1 & 2 and Flood Recovery 1 & 2. MISC NOTES: • Chain saw Trainees must bring safety glasses, leather work gloves, hiking style boots or shoes and insurance card. You will also be required to fill out a Volunteer indemnity form. • Basic Training: Cost is $16.00 for SBC and SBC affiliated Volunteers. This will cover a mandatory background check and a picture badge. This is done through this website under your volunteer profile. • Lunch Will Be provided. We are asking for an $8.00 donation that will go towards supporting SBC DR. • Registration / Sign-In is needed for everyone Pre-Register at this website. • Apparel Store will be open for selling shirts and hats.
